Position purpose

Responsible for managing the Health Services/ Workers Compensation Department for Hazleton, PA. This includes management of the professional and ancillary staff, including creation, execution, and follow through of services available, and constant vigilance regarding the OSHA regulated actions and information.

Principal Responsibilities

40% - Manages Occupational Health/Workers Compensation Department through efficient utilization of available staff, implementation of policies and procedures and supervision of department staff.

20% - Develops and documents plant specific policies and procedures to ensure compliance with mandated programs of Cargill as well as State or Federal organizations. Manages compliance programs and training in CPR, AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, HazMat, and the Cargill Drug & Alcohol Program.

20% - Ensures OSHA mandated programs and record keeping are completed to comply with regulations.

10% - Functions as a liaison between healthcare professionals, employees, and other management personnel to facilitate communication.

10% - Analyzes location data and collaborates with Corporate Workers Compensation Managers, Human Resources, Safety, Operations and Plant Management to identify opportunities and implement actions to decrease liability in Workers Compensation, decrease OSHA reportables, and improve compliance programs to prevent risk.

Bachelors Degree in Nursing

2 years nursing management experience

RN license active and in good standing in the state of PA or the ability to obtain RN license in PA.

Computer Skills Working experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, etc.

Able to travel up to 25%

Able to be in an office space in an area of the plant with limitations.

Able to be in a Production environments are regulated at temperatures different than normal comfort zones.

Able to worn Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with OSHA and Food Safety Guidelines are required in production areas.

Bachelors Degree in Nursing

OHN Certification/CCM

Knowledge of OSHA, Workers Compensation, and Industry Employment

Occupational Health and/or 2 years nursing management experience

Experience in med surge, outpatient, emergency, or surgery.

Preferred Bilingual Spanish/English

Working experience in electronic health record
